What cookies we use
This website does not set cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising. If we ever add optional cookies, we will ask for your permission first.
Software Hackathon terms
These terms apply to the Software Hackathon track. They sit alongside the overall terms on the main HACK DAY KOCHI page.
1. Eligibility and team
Teams must have exactly 2 members, all of whom register through this track page. A person may take part in only one team for this track. Organisers may disqualify a registration that is incomplete, false, or submitted by someone who is not eligible.
2. Project requirements
Open-source or open-weight AI must be a core part of the project. The project must be published in a public GitHub repository under an open-source licence. Agent skills must follow the Agent Skill Open Standard, and model harnesses must contain original work or meaningful modifications. Projects that do not meet these requirements may be excluded from judging.
3. Use of AI models
Participants must follow the licence terms of every model, dataset, and tool they use, including any usage restrictions attached to open-weight models. The team is responsible for confirming it has the right to use and redistribute the components in its project.
4. Ownership and licensing
Teams keep ownership of their projects. By submitting, teams agree that organisers and partners may publish the project name, description, team names, and screenshots or demo recordings for event promotion. The code itself remains under the open-source licence the team chose.
5. Judging and prizes
Entries are judged at the project demo on the event day. Judges’ decisions are final. The first prize is one Arduino UNO Q (Qualcomm Dragonwing QRB2210, 4 GB RAM), with an approximate value of ₹10,000. Prizes are non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are subject to availability. Any taxes on a prize are the winner’s responsibility.
6. Submission deadline
Submissions must be complete by the submission deadline shown on the event schedule. Work submitted after the deadline may not be judged.
Game Jam terms
These terms apply to the Game Jam track. They sit alongside the overall terms on the main HACK DAY KOCHI page.
1. Eligibility and team
Teams must have exactly 3 members, all of whom register through this track page. A person may take part in only one team for this track. Organisers may disqualify a registration that is incomplete, false, or submitted by someone who is not eligible.
2. Original game
Each game must be created by the team during the event. Teams may use existing engines, libraries, and tools, but the game itself must be a new, playable creation. Assets or code taken from another project must be licensed for this use and credited.
3. Gameplay challenges
Gameplay challenges are revealed at kickoff. The individual mechanics and their point values stay confidential until then. Teams earn points by implementing challenges successfully, and judging follows the criteria shown on this page.
4. AI-generated content
If a team uses AI tools to generate art, audio, text, or code, it must disclose this in its submission. The team must have the right to use any AI-generated content, and it must follow the terms of the tools and models it used. Judges also consider the quality of AI-generated content.
5. Ownership and licensing
Teams keep ownership of their games. By submitting, teams agree that organisers and partners may showcase the game, its title, team names, and gameplay footage for event promotion.
6. Judging and prizes
Judges’ decisions are final. The first prize is three IGDC Delegate Passes, one for each member of the winning team, with a total value of ₹6,000 (₹2,000 each). Passes are non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are subject to the terms and availability set by the IGDC event organisers.
